When
you volunteer at Ferncliff Nursing Home, you’ll
enrich your life while bringing joy to others. Our
residents treasure the companionship of people of
all ages, all abilities, and all talents, and our
volunteer opportunities meet the scheduling needs
of busy individuals. A little of your time each week
can make a lasting difference in our residents’
lives.
Volunteers at Ferncliff
work with the residents to brighten their days. They
assist the Activities Department with holiday celebrations,
cooking classes, and bingo games. They run Ferncliff’s
Gift Shop and serve at Happy Hour. They escort residents
on bus trips into the community. They help residents
in wheelchairs get to their appointments in Ferncliff’s
Occupational and Physical Therapy Departments. They
serve as Eucharistic Ministers in the Pastoral Care
Department, and provide one-to-one companionship for
those who have no family and few – if any –
visitors.
People with pets enjoy
participating in our Pet Therapy Programs, and Ferncliff
has a Junior Volunteer Program designed for teenagers.
Volunteers also run the Spring Flower Sale at Ferncliff
which raises money each year for special activities
and programs that improve our residents’ quality
of life.
